I love that sound by Michael Bernard Fitzgerald. To me it really highlights these small intimate moments of daily life, doing the dishes after a meal, undressing before bed, finding a contented love in the ordinary. 💗

When my wife and I married 33 years ago it was “She and I” (live in our own little world, ain’t it wonderful). We still listen to that, but we’ve had stretches where “At Last” really worked. Most recently it’s been Anderson.Paak’s “Put Me Thru” and Sturgill Simpson’s “I Don’t Mind.” We still dance in the kitchen to a bunch of these.

I always preferred Judy Collins' version of Both Sides Now. :-)

Three songs came to mind: “My Love Will Keep” by Adrienne Young --love thru the seasons...thoughts of the seasons of life--youth, early romance (spring) summer, child rearing years, empty nesters (fall) and old age (winter). “Also Grow Old With Me” written by John Lennon/performed by Mary Chaplin Carpenter--“Grow old along with me, Two branches of one tree” pursuing individual passions while at the same time growing together and merging to create a gorgeous strong relationship. The last is “Silver” by Carrie Newcomer. Wondering about love in advancing age. Can you tell that we’re empty nesters approaching retirement? 32 years of building a life together. ❤️
