What a great line up! I love stuffing my queue with a mix of good spiritual, conceptual conversations alongside practical, brass tacks conversations. Feels like zooming out and then zooming back in.
I think the best takeaway from this was failure as part of the process. Like in Westworld there's a line that is something to the effect of "life as we know it is derived from one thing: the mistake" which is their way of saying we got here through trying, failing, adapting, learning, and failure was the tool that carved the finished product. A GREAT resource for feeling better is firstversions.com which will show you the first version of the most successful businesses in the world - facebook, uber, airbnb, etc. ... and how crappy they were. Here are some more summarized in The Hustle...
Oh I love that idea- science is so much better at embracing mistakes and understanding the real value of that in the process. It's so beautiful, really. Almost makes you want to run right into the fire and get refined.
Also- thank you for this website! What a perfect bookmark to visit anytime we find ourselves comparing our first draft against final versions. I can't believe I didn't know this existed! (Side note- I'm particularly delighted by the Craigslist case study)
My go-to podcasts for when I'm feeling dumpy:
Pulling The Thread with Elise Loehnen, The Baggage Reclaim Sessions, UnFuck Your Brain, and We Can Do Hard Things (duh) ♥️
