Welcome to the bright side. Just kidding. We both know it’s not always bright and pretending it is, doesn’t make it better. Which is the whole thing, actually. I don’t do forced sunshine (anymore) and I can’t promise everything will always be ok, but I am here, so here’s what you can expect from me: bi-weekly essays, experiments, and other interpretive expressions that curiously explore themes (like love, loss, growth and change) through popular fiction (like movies, tv shows, books). Hard-to-talk-about things through the lens of fun-to-watch-and-talk-about things.

You can think of Outsourced Optimism like an honest and imaginative companion that pairs well with the human experience. Especially the really complicated, conflicting experiences like starting over, feeling lost and searching for your place in the world.

SOMETIMES WE BORROW HOPE, SOMETIMES WE BRING OUR OWN.

Curious what an ‘imaginative companion’ with ‘interpretive expressions’ actually looks like?
