There's a beautiful bakery downtown that creates beautiful iced masterpieces - it's looks like a bakery off of a movies and smells amazing. I've always been fond of swiss cake rolls and they've been posting pics of their gorgeous ones but they're like $50/roll and I don't NEED a whole one...I'm talking like the Great British Baking show style yule logs! Yesterday they posted that they were selling them by the slice so I went in today to grab one. They were out but they upsold me a slice of cake :) That was my joy for today.
Yesterday, I was feeling very melancholy - I finally had the chance to put up our trees but I wasn't in the mood, we were listening to Bing Crosby Christmas tunes and I just wanted to cry, it always brings back memories of my mom. I had planned to make corn chowder for dinner, the recipe for it lives in a book she bought me that she handwrote recipes in (she never finished it). I forgot until I opened the front cover that she wrote "Christmas 2000, to take with you on your future journey, with all my love, Mom". So, there she was, with me again. That was my joy for the day. It's there, it's just recognizing it. <3
And a fun little drink is just >>>> !
Right?! Such a simple way to light up the senses.
Love that tending Tami ~ I need it too ❤️
Oh I'm so glad!
