Hello Fellow Campers! My name is Tami. Iβm from Los Angeles. I love puns and I spend most of my time creating and consuming stories (which, it turns out, is my play type!) If you like listening to On Being or The Rewatchables weβre going to get along just fine.
Hello Fellow Campers! My name is Emily. Iβm from Chicago. I love reading and dancing and I spend most of my time watching Bravo. If you like listening to deep dive videos and Fleetwood Mac weβre going to get along just fine.
Welcome Emily!! What part of Chicago? I used to live right off Belmont and Broadway. I'm in LA now but I miss that city so much (especially the summertime!)
Hello Fellow Campers! My name is Jan. Iβm from Boulder, CO and Newport Beach, CA.
I love adventure and creating and I spend most of my time traveling and making art, unless I'm hanging with family or friends eating great food, drinking fine wine (sometimes), and having amazing philosophical conversations. If you like listening to oldies or books on tape, weβre going to get along just fine.
ππ» Well, no wonder we get along so well! Any good books on tape recommendations lately? I love the idea, but I have such a hard time finding narrators that don't drive me nuts!
yeah, if the narrator is bad it can b difficult but i love when authors do the reading. And using books on tape allows me to βreadβ sooo many more books.
a few favorites:
i LOVED Lessons in Chemistry, jessica simpson and demi moore
Ooo! I'm just started a Lessons In Chemistry re-read. Partly because I just loved it so much and partly in prep for the Apple TV series coming out in October!
Hello Fellow Campers! My name is Alex. Iβm from Kansas City, Missouri. I love reading, writing, gaming, and learning, and I spend most of my time wondering how I can be more innovative in the classroom. If you like listening to niche podcasts about the nuances of Sex and the City, outlaw country, or Lana Del Rey (sorry!) weβre going to get along just fine.
ππ» I LOVE Kansas City! My husband and I have driven across the country 8 times in the last few years and that is one of our favorite stops. We go out of our way to pass through now!
Hello fellow Campers! My name is Suzanne. I live in Florida though I'm originally from the icy cold north. I love the outdoors and spend most of my free time on my mountain bike in the woods and baring that, you'll probably find me behind the camera. If you like listening to alternative/indie/electronic and enjoy a good podcast diving deep into a fictional storyline or unwinding the quirks of life, we'll get along just fine.
For fiction I've enjoyed Unwell and lately Midnight Burger. Both are a bit wacky and a bit super natural or sci-fi with a good sense of adventure. Love listening to those when psyching myself up on the road to a shoot or while relaxing and knitting away the stress. :) Decoder Ring features cultural and pop culture deep dives which can be fun. Hidden Brain and Radio Lab can have some interesting and insightful stories and cerebral explorations. Stuff You Should Know is fun as well and really light-hearted but earnest. :)
What a great list and so many I haven't heard of. Thank you! Radio Lab and SYSK are two of my favorite road trip listens. I'm adding these all to the queue but I think Decoder Ring will be my next up!
Hello Fellow Campers! My name is Elma. Iβm originally from Maryland and live in Asheville, NC. I love spending time with friends and family, learning new things (turns out explorer is my play type!), and cooking. I spend most of my time with my toddler and baby. If you like listening to podcasts (recent favorite is the Prestige TV podcast series featuring The Bear) and audiobooks at 1.5x speed, Taylor Swift, Macklemore, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, or Raffi (to appease your kid), weβre going to get along just fine.
ππ» Explorer! Ummm.. my secret solo dance party song is Glorious. (I also listen to everything at 1.5 speed and, oh boy, I am queueing up those Prestige Bear right this minute!
